Cumulative Dimensions in DC?
#1
Is there a way to do cumulative dimensions in DC?

| | | |
|<---(Dim1)--->|----(Dim1+Dim2)---->|----(Dim1+2+3)--->|

Left & right arrowheads on 1st dimension
No left hand arrow head on subsequent dimensions

Thanks.

There is no such format in Deltacad that will enable you to stack dimension values as you have shown. Values can certainly be edited to display the desired dimension but you will not be able to eliminate the arrow-head on only one end of the dimension line so that it appears to be coming from a common datum feature. If this is a "one shot" drawing and you don't anticipate needing to use this type of dimensioning in the future perhaps you can just draw the dimensions in as text and lines. I can pretty much bet that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference once finished.

You can do that but they must be 'stacked' dimensions as per my many drawings on <here>.

Typically, that's how most drawings will be drawn and therefore understood by the builders. -- Cumulative dimensions can and will, in some cases, confuse the end builder and are generally not provided in the drawings intended for the builder unless they happen to be critical dimensions required for the end product to function properly as per the design specs. However, over-all (cumulative) dimensions are almost always provided either in a stacked manner or on an opposing side of the given detailed dimensions.
