Detecting extra stacked lines
#1
Guys
When doing copy and pasting grouped parts I sometimes end up with extra identical lines that are stacked and it gives me a problems when go to create cnc file tool paths.
Is there a way to easily detect these stacked lines from a drawing without deleting one line at a time to see if there is one more below?
Thanks
John

I use to program CNC and our drafters were always creating duplicate lines, so I know what you are talking about.

If you knew the start and ends points of the duplicate lines were the same as the lines you want to keep, a macro could be programmed to find duplicate lines.

Another thing that could be done is to make a temporary layer and then SELECT the lines and arcs you are going to use and move them to the temporary layer. (make sure your COPY option is OFF and you pick only one line and arc from each position).
Then turn off the temporary layer and the duplicate lines should be left and easy to delete. Then turn the temporary layer back on and rename it.

Thanks for the suggestions but it seems it would be more work doing your way.
