Desired positioning of a selected object can be achieved by…

One

1.    select the object.
2.    (under the select tab) choose the “set the base point for selected object” button (the button with just a dot on it). this will set a temporary base point.
3.    with button selected place curser at desired position and left click.
4.    this will allow a one-time positioning at the temporary base point.

Two

When creating an object you can set permanent base point(s) during the creation of your object.

1.    draw that which you wish to become an object.
2.    Under the “Point” tab select the “Perm” button and then the “Draw a Point” button.
3.    initially the “Draw a Point” will have an offset of 1,1. to place the new base point at your cursor change the offset to 0,0 (or whatever offset you desire)
4.    place your base point(s), then select all that you want included and “Group”

Page 121 of the  DeltaCad Users Manual has information about moving objects using base points.
Also used for rotating, scaling and grouping.
